AH: “Tell me why you thought it was important to be here.” Brit: “I think it’s just important for New Orleans because they’re such a soulful city, that for them to keep the traditions going as much as possible now, they need this — the spirit of it.” AH: “New Orleans is kind of your home. What was it like seeing what was going on here?” Brit: “Well, we didn’t really know the extent of it because they had a warning for like two days, and then all of a sudden, I didn’t hear from my mom for like a week.” “All the phone services were down and you couldn’t get in touch with anybody and it was just kind of weird not being able to talk to your family.” Posted in News |
